Description: Jaques Art Center 6th Juried Plein Aire Competition and paint out. ENTRY DEADLINE: May 15! A $25.00 entry fee. Twenty artists will be selected for this competition. $400 first place / $1100 in total prizes. New to plein aire and don't want to compete? then join in the open painting sessions for free. Location: Inside at Centenial United Methodist Church, 1524 County Road C2 W, Roseville MN.
Directions: Go in the entrance on the south side of the building, and down the stairs and to your left into the large hall. Tables and chairs are set up for you to work at. Bring all of your own materials for painting. Get on the email list (lisamack@comcast.net) to be notified in case there is an emergency cancellation--ie the church is needed for a funeral or other non-planned event.

Location: Vadnais Lake / Sucker Lake. Vadnais Blvd. and Sucker Lake Rd. Turn onto Sucker Lake Rd. There will be a wide area for turning around so we can meet there. Multiple places to paint, along the river, the lake at the lock or the grounds around the center's building. The map is attached. Lunch place TBD

Location: Raspberry Island in St. Paul has a good vantage point to paint the city, the Robert St. Bridge facing down river or on the north the marina with its boats or the sculling boats and crew, if they're out. Lunch place TBD (info on Raspberry Island)

Location: A Choice between Central Park or Lake Josephine or Marie Hammond’s back yard 1200 Josephine Rd Roseville just north of C2 and Lexington. At noon meet for pot luck at Marie’s and bring a painting for a critique gathering after lunch, Central Park is on Lexington south of County C and parking is on your right. For those who know the area, it has been suggested that Dale St. parking is also a good choice with a lot to paint in Central Park.

Location: The Greenway near Loring Park at Deanna Jokinen’s residence Minneapolis. Park in Deanna Jokinen’s garage. Go into the Loring Green West door and sign up at the podium your car license so you don’t get towed. Parking is free for visitors. Follow the brick stairs outside close to the garage to the greenway to get to great views of the city, the park bikers and walkers, very exciting. One last lunch out together at a big table at Buca’s Restaurant that is two blocks away. Directions to Deanna’s Parking garage is: TO Deanna’s from I-35 W HEADING NORTH OR SOUTH: 35 W to I-94 heading west; Take the 11th St exit into downtown Minneapolis; Stay on 11th St until Harmon (past Orchestra Hall and Nicollet Mall); Turn Left on Harmon (between St. Thomas Law School and Dancing Ganesha Indian restaurant); Go 2 blocks and turn left at the 4-way stop at 13th St.; Go one block to the stop sign (not a 4-way stop) at Yale Pl.; Go straight ahead into the Loring Green West property driveway.; Guest Parking (free) is straight ahead in the garage just beyond the tree in the road at the building entrance.
